Bright minds = Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s)
You love your child and you want to provide them with the right tools to learn and grow up to be amazing individuals – Right? Well, a good education is just part of the picture, you need nutrients to feed the brain and keep it absorbing everything the teacher has to offer. This starts with EFA’s, but is assisted by Vitamins B6, A, C, E, magnesium, zinc, copper, and selenium. Where do you get EFA’s? These are primarily omega 3 fatty acids and they come from fatty fish (like salmon), flax seeds, walnuts, and beans.
Here’s the clincher, if your child consumes too much sugar and processed foods, the body will not utilize the EFA’s they way we had planned. So think about this the next time you reach for the goldfish crackers or an Oreo cookie, teach your kids to love fruits and vegetables and their brain will thank you in the end.
