Date Butter
Date Butter is one of those amazing treats that can help satisfy any sweet tooth while providing great nutritional value with every bite. As with any good recipe, take the liberty of playing with the spices to create the right flavor to suit your needs.
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 Cups Dates, pitted
2 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
¼ teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
¼ teaspoon Ground Cloves
¼ teaspoon Ground Ginger
Water
Make it
Place the dates in an airtight container with enough water to cover them and seal. Place in the refrigerator overnight.
Strain the dates and place them into a high-speed blender with the spices. **As a side note, you can save the water from the dates and use as a sweetener in tea or add it back into the mixture if you feel like you would like it smoother**.
Store in the refrigerator for up to a couple of weeks and in the freezer indefinitely.
Enjoy this yummy treat on an apple, inside the crevasse of a celery stalk, on a piece of toast, on pancakes, or on anything else that could use a bit of sweetness.
